Fall 2009I hope you're all enjoying the beautiful snow today!
This post is about the almost-abaya creations featured on the Fall 2009 runways. Many designers have included long-sleeved, full-length gowns in their collections, in a range of styles and colours, which provide great inspiration for budding dress-makers and designers. Below are some of my favourites.
Staerk and Lanvin both went for belted, narrrow silhouettes in charcoal black. Whilst not the most hjab-friendly, I love the simplicity of the design and of course the corsage on the Staerk dress.
Staerk; Lanvin
Gareth Pugh; L'Wren Scott
From sporty to glam, these two dresses are both really wearable. I adore the chain link detailing on the Azzaro dress, making it perfect for an evening out:

Chado Ralph Rucci; AzzaroColours weren't restricted to black either; these creamy white gowns are gorgeous:
Dennis Basso; Tommy Hilfiger
Brighter colours and patterns also featured; I love the full skirt of the Stephen Burrows dress and the creative graphic print from Yigal Azrouel:
Stephen Burrows; Yigal Azrouel
Sophie Theallet; Ports 1961
