My name is Amela and I am 24 years old. Originally I am a Bosnian, but living in Australia for 15 years now. I am a student at the Australian College of Applied Psychology and I am studying Counselling/Pyschology. I am married and expecting a baby soon InshaAllah, which I know will bring happiness into mine and my husbands life. I have began wearing the hijab in March 2008 and I have to say it is one of the most challenging and rewarding things I have done so far.
My StyleMy style is combined with a little bit of everything. I like to combine different covering styles and colours to make my own look at times. I tend to buy outfits that are most comfortable for me to wear. I love maxi dresses and long skirts, I have many colours that I always match with the scarf/shawl. I choose to go shopping at Islamic shops and the average shops as you can always find nice bargains on long tops, tunics, and even shorter dresses that can be worn with pants underneath and a long sleeved top to cover the arms.
I always wear 2 bonnets that can be matched with what I am wearing as it really brings out the personality in me, as I love bright colours. I also like to use trims on my bonnets at times when I am attending a special event as it looks more glamorous.
My must have to complete my look is a little bit of accessorizing, I like to go simple on the necklaces, earrings and bangles as it can just add a little touch of colour and excitement to any outfit. The necklaces I wear are usually long ones that aren't too tight around the neck.
Top TipMy top tip is to always accessorize and wear minimal make up if the colours you are wearing are very bright and "out there". Keep it natural so that the whole outfit is still decent and fashionable.
