Hijab Jewels is a UK-based company selling hijabs and accessories via their website. They recently sent me a few of their products to review. The package was sent by 1st class recorded delivery, and a tracking number provided, which is always useful when you want to know the status of your order.
The
Bluebell hijab is a large cotton scarf measuring 200cm x 70cm, with a fringed border. It has a pretty blue, purple and green print on a beige background. The fabric itself is very lightweight, and actually appears to be two layers stuck together to giver a thicker, more sturdy scarf. It stays in place easily throughout the day and holds its shape well.
The
Black Spring Maxi hijab is a very large scarf. At one layer thick, it is quite see-through, so I personally found I had to fold it over in half lengthways before wearing it. This does make it quite bulky though, but is good if you like more voluminous hijab styles. The design is very pretty, with the print mainly along the borders and a few scattered petals in the centre, making it a great option if you're not a fan of busy printed scarves.
Next is the
Pink Frosting pin, which is a handmade design. It's a simple stick pin with a moulded rose design at the end. Although I liked the design, I felt the rose itself is big for a pin, and looks a bit over the top for everyday use. The
Pink Diamante Mini brooch came in a cute little organza gift bag. It's a really tiny piece (2.5cm diameter), but it makes it a lot easier to use on the hijab itself, unlike larger brooches which tend to drag on the fabric.
Overall I was quite happy with the Hijab Jewels items. I liked the prints and fabrics of the scarves, but found them a little too large (generally I'm not a fan of larger scarves anyway though). The delivery and customer service was great, and the website is easy to use and navigate.
