Abaya design in Dubai has shifted away recently from styles that primarily focused on embroidery and embellishment along sleeves, to more creative cuts and draping fabric. These are a few images of Muna bin Kalli, General Director of the Dubai Ladies Club, (aka the Marie Claire abaya girl) that I scanned in from the April 2009 issue of Hia Magazine. Although not 100% hijab appropriate - the sleeves could do with lengthening for one, I do love the use of the bronze panelled fabric, and of course the Grecian-inspired cut:
