The second largest Muslim convention in the U.S. kicks off this weekend with the focus on understanding Shariah.
The 37th annual Islamic Circle of North America convention in Hartford takes place May 26-28.
“Muslims need to be educated about Shariah. There’s a need for the community to better understand what Shariah means to us, and how to apply Shariah in a society where most people are not of the same faith,” ICNA’s vice president of public affairs Naeem Baig said.
The ICNA event is open to the public, and about 15,000 are expected to attend.
